The Next Top 250 Directors
We’ve completed our update/rebrand and are currently in the process of adding profiles for directors who fall out of our top 250 list. We now have 500+ directors with profiles on the site, from Louis Feuilliade to Xavier Dolan.
Eventually, in probably June, we’ll have the 2024 top 250 directors list, which will be the second iteration of our list publicly available. It’ll be exciting to see what changes the year has brought. Will some long-established directors lose favour? Will the Sight and Sound list have influenced people’s perceptions?
Or will we see some directors break into the list off the back of this year’s films? Will Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things see him enter? Or will Martin Scorsese’s latest see him reach number 3 on the total list?
There’s a lot to look forward to.
