Everything We Know About Juror #2 – Eastwood’s Final Movie

Clint Eastwood is confirmed to be writing and directing what could be his final film for Warner Bros. The film, due to be a thriller, has the working title of Juror #2 and will be Eastwood’s 40th directed film, having first Play Misty for Me in 1971.

The film will follow a juror on a murder trial who realises he may be responsible for the victim’s death and the moral battle he faces about how to conduct himself in the trial.

The release date for Juror #2 isn’t currently known, but filming is set to begin in mid-June. Eastwood is well known for his quick one-take directorial style, so an end-of-year release isn’t out of the question.

The film will star Nicholas Hoult as the lead juror and Toni Collete as the district attorney. This will be their first film together in 21 years since About A Boy. It’s unclear at the moment whether Eastwood will feature as an actor in the films, but more details are set to emerge as the film enters pre-production.

The film is being produced by Warner Bros, which Eastwood has worked with for 50 years and exclusively since 2008’s Gran Torino. His last film, the average Cry Macho, was a box office disappointment, and following Discovery’s acquisition of Warner Media, some wondered if that was it for Eastwood.

However, Warner Bros is giving him another go with Juror #2. The film is just one of Warner’s upcoming big-name projects, such as a Frank Bullit movie directed by Steven Spielberg, a sequel to Constantine with Keanu Reeves, and an I Am Legend sequel with Will Smith.

Juror #2 is being internally billed as Eastwood’s last film, and if this is the case, we hope he ends his career on a high note, as Cry Macho was a let-down considering Eastwood’s fantastic late career. Eastwood’s career has seen him create some of cinema’s most iconic characters and win two Best Director Oscars for Million Dollar Baby (2004) and Unforgiven (1992).

His other best films include The Bridges of Madison County, Letters from Iwo Jima, Mystic River, The Outlaw Josey Wales and High Plains Drifter. However, you could list his classic films for ages.
